Nancy Kress is an American science fiction writer, born in January, 1948. Her 1991 novella, Beggars in Spain, won the Hugo and Nebula awards. Since then she expanded it into a novel.
In 2012 she also won the Nebula Award for Best Novella for “After the Fall, Before the Fall, During the Fall.”
